Lord Vader…..

I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master

Intro

How often do you get a chance to photograph Darth Vader in the studio… I have defiantly started this year off to a great start when it comes to themed photo-shoots

Triggertrap Mobile Review ….

Intro

This is one of those cool stories that only the internet could make possible. I meet a few of the guys from Triggertraps at Photokina this year.  There had been a lot of talk about them in on of the Flickr groups I administer so I wanted to check them out. Basically a few guys thought they had a great idea but needed the start up capital. Using Kickstarter they wanted to raise $25,000 (£16,000 / €20,000) to create their first product, Triggertrap v1. But got more than they bargained with an astounding 300% of the target amount, and nearly 900 backers funded them to the tune of $75,000 (£48,000 / €60,000). The item that interested me the most is the Triggertrap Mobile, which launched in May 2012.

Bokehlicious with Nora

Intro

Original last Friday night was planed part 2 of the Star Wars project. But unfortunately Darth Vader was sick. I asked Nora if she had time for an impromptu shoot. I’ve had some lighting ideas in the back of my head for a while so this was the perfect chance to test them out.

Tethered direct to Lightroom with an Alpha

The first thing you will need to do is download the latest version of Sony Remote capture. Note the only supported cameras are A700, A850,A900,A99 (I don’t know about the A77). Your camera will need to be set to “USB connection  : Remote PC”

NEX Panorama….

Intro

In my opinion one of the coolest function of the Sony NEX range of cameras has to be the sweep panorama. The concept is simple you pan the camera in either a vertical or horizontal live while holding the shutter button down (and in panorama mode). once you have finished “sweeping” the camera stitches all the photos together and creates a panorama.

Sony Alpha 99 vs Alpha 900

Intro

A few weeks ago I got to play with the A99 at Photokina. I have been using Minolta (and latter Sony) as long as I can remember so the A99 is a development that interested me. And how it compares to my A900….

Edinburgh

Edinburgh

A few weeks ago I went to Edinburgh with Tom for a long weekend of whisky tasting and photography. We also met up with Jannis and Laura who were travelling around  France and Scotland…

Basically we spent most the time walking around drinking, eating and taking photos. I knew there were a lot of cemeteries in Edinburgh but I just didn’t quite realise exactly how many. I had been to Edinburgh about 10 years ago, so I had a basic idea of where I wanted to go and what to expect. But found that exploring all the alley ways and hidden little pubs was like slipping into an other world, and was content just simply to continue exploring, drinking, eating and taking photos
