Lord Vader…..

I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master

Intro

How often do you get a chance to photograph Darth Vader in the studio… I have defiantly started this year off to a great start when it comes to themed photo-shoots

The shoot

I can only start off by thanking my friend “The Jedi Girl” for helping me set up this shoot. We kind of stuck to the classic Vader themes for this shoot but I am hoping to do a few more shoots together this year where we can mix it up a bit for a laugh.

I basically stuck to hard light sources and added barn-doors and honeycomb-grids when i needed more control over the light. The only colour gels that I used was red and I think we did about the first 1/3 of the shoot with a smoke machine. Towards the end of the shoot i unpacked my 180cm umbrella that we used as a background behind Darth.

You don’t know the power of the dark side!

Darth also bought a Storm trooper speeder bike rider costume with him so the Jedi girl could have a bit of fun. If you want to see more of my shoots with the Jedi Girl please click on this link .

“Impressive. Most impressive. Obi-Wan has taught you well. You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me.”

  1. […] Not long ago in a galaxy not so far away,  I had the chance to photograph one of the “501 German Gerrisons” Darth Vaders. That costume was a 100% true remake of the Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Vader costume. The time was the costume was a 100% accurate version of Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. To be honest I was kind of excited as a big Star Wars fan, a new hope was the first film I ever saw at the cinema as a kid. I also wanted to time this shoot for Star Wars celebration this weekend […]
