So the cazy season is over an it time to catch up with lots and lots of shoots. Marcel is a model I spoke to about part of a black and white set I want to work on over 2015 using different models (but I’ll talk about that latter).
Steffen has been to the studio several times with his costumes. He has built some of the best Star Wars costumes I have ever seen, this time he was all excited to get shot in his movie accurate spider-man outfit. Unfortunately the night before the shoot he burst the zippier and couldn’t get it repaired in time. I had just finished shooting Jasmine doing her yoga and hand stands when he arrived and thought hay keep the same light set up, shoot white on white and have some fun with it.
I’m working a a few projects for local fitness trainer Moritz from “BASIS Karlsruhe” at the moment, he needs some high resolution photos for life sizes print. And his first request was a handstand….
I have had a Roundflash for a while now and enjoy its portability, ease of use and simplicity. But the funny thing is I actually end up using it off camera more then on camera, like a consolable soft-box, which is how the new version is designed to be used.
I have been sidetracked from blogging over the last few months. But I should have more time to get back into it for a while again…..
I spent August back in New Zealand, and we had a great time. While I was the I picked up a bag of Sony Alpha gear from a Pawn brokers (Cash converters). I was actually only after 1 lens in the bag but it was cheap and they wouldn’t split it up. It included several lenses and a Sony Alpha 100 (in very good condition) extra batteries, charger, CF cards etc so I couldn’t lose on the deal. My son was happy he though he was going to get the A100 but instead I took it to Phototronics (An authorises Sony repair centre) and had them fit a 720nm IF filter.
A while back I shot a vampire musical by Johann Günther which was a lot of fun. So when he ask me to shoot a few promotional photos for his upcoming musical “Fate & Failure” I jumped at the opportunity.
Nina jumped in last minute to fill in ….. and saved the day. So before I do any more thanks so much.
There are a lot of things that are going to have to fit into my lighting bag, one of the first things I want to try out is Quenox Light Shaper Kit for External Flash. The kit itself is designed to fit any systems flash and comes with a variety of light modifiers. This is just my first impressions as I took them out of the box to play with, I have a few shoots planed in the next few months to really test them out.
I have had several shoots this year but nothing to really blog about. Just a few paid jobs small product shoots or business portraits etc. Although I have several ideas I’m working on in the next few weeks that should be something different, but last week Gloria was in the studio for a shoot.
The end of the year draws near and I have so much I want get finished (including 6 or 7 blog entries). Nina was in the studio a few weeks ago for a “Light Blaster” shoot as I had a few more ideas to test out.
