Bokehlicious with Nora

Intro

Original last Friday night was planed part 2 of the Star Wars project. But unfortunately Darth Vader was sick. I asked Nora if she had time for an impromptu shoot. I’ve had some lighting ideas in the back of my head for a while so this was the perfect chance to test them out.

There were several things I wanted to achieve through out the shoot, with several different set ups.

  • Narrow depth of field
  • A smooth Bokeh
  • Bright colourful lighting
  • Combination of constant and flash lighting
  • A playful look
  • A Cross-processed look through lighting and not Photoshop

Original I also wanted to add a smoke machine for affect but unfortunately we killed the smoke machine just minutes before the shoot.

Making of with Thorsten and Nora

Using a silver plastic portière (door curtain) as a background we used several different colour gels to light it. I also used colour gels as a hair-light to create a slight cross processed look.

These 2 diagrams cover the basic set-ups from the whole night. Several small things changed from set to set  like the colour of the gets etc.

Thanks to Nora and Thorsten for putting up with me
