I found this while searching for some extreme make up tips (for project shoots latter this year). For fom reason i thought it was cool and would shear it with the world. It is an early guideline for applying make-up during the infancy of film. Colors and bone structure had to be exaggerated and contradictory for the lighting and cameras to broadcast a natural look.

Recently I have been experimenting a lot with mixing different light sources weather it’s studio flashes, System flashes or constant lighting. And guessing the exposure can get complicated. Guide numbers are mostly used on system flashes (speedlights) and watts-second is being used on monolights.
Watt-seconds (Ws) is a unit of energy. When reading flash unit specifications, the Ws rating is the amount of energy that can be stored in its capacitors and released when the flash is fired.
The Guide Number (GN), on the other hand, is a measure of light. It indicates how intense the light from a single flash is when falling on the subject.

The first thing you will need to do is download the latest version of Sony Remote capture. Note the only supported cameras are A700, A850,A900,A99 (I don’t know about the A77). Your camera will need to be set to “USB connection : Remote PC”

One of those spur of the moment E-Bay purchases. I have had an idea in the back of my head for a while. A shoot with my 3 year old daughter. She loves bubbles (well what 3 year old doesn’t) but I didn’t want to spend 90€ on a half decent bubble machine. So I picked up this one for €19.00. I like the idea of it being battery or mains powered so I could theoretically shoot my kids any there with it.
My Zeiss 85mm lens hood has had a hard life. Its been dropped by a Polish taxi driver, used as a football by some kids at a wedding, broken and re-glued several times. I have though about ordering a new one several times but never could. This week I decided it needed some decorating to hide all the scratches in the black paint…..
