Masquerade Masks

First shoot of the year is a shoot I have been planing for a while now. I found some amazing masquerade masks online some time around November last year but I didn’t want to invest so much with out actually seeing them.

I found a few located in a local costume rental that i could have cheaper then normal, so now it was time to plan the shoot.

Aragorn, son of Arathorn

Steve has an alter ego… Strider the ranger of the north. I found photos of Steve on an internet portal and was impressed with his costume. I asked if he would model for me as I had several ideas in the back of my head for a while now, and before I knew it we were in the studio. Knowing that the “Jedi Girl” would be interested in a shoot like this I asked her to join.

Apocalipstick

This time the Friday night shoot was called Apocalipstick, it was a kind of mix up of a variety of themes e.g Kill Bill, Tank-Girl, Serenity, Sucker-Punch etc. My concept behind the look for the models was “I want you… I want to kill you”

Jazz Age Beauties

Jazz Age Beauties

“Jazz Age Beauties: The Lost Collection of Ziegfeld Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston” is a book I stumbled across on Amazon a while back. Its shows the private collection of New York photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston (known as “Cheney” to his friends and associates). Born April 1885 Cheney was best  known for his portraits of Ziegfeld Follies showgirls and actors and actresses of the 1920s and 1930s

Lisa…

For my second post I thought it would be a good idea to post a few photos of my make up artist. Lisa and I have been working together on a lot of projects over the last 12 months. She has been both model and make up artist on several shoots and workshops in the lightGIANTS studio.

About 2 months ago she asked me to if we could do a portrait session that wasn’t based around any workshop  or other project. The only problem was finding time …
